Assassin’s Creed Mirage Combat Gameplay Leaked

Jorraptor has leaked a new gameplay video for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the upcoming spin-off game that will take players to the Golden Age of Baghdad in the ninth century. The video showcases the combat system of the game, which looks similar to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but with some notable differences and improvements.

One of the most noticeable changes is the absence of damage numbers, which were present in Valhalla and other recent Assassin’s Creed games. Instead, Mirage opts for a more realistic and immersive approach, where enemies have health bars that deplete as they take damage. This makes the combat feel more grounded and less arcadey, as well as allowing players to focus on the action rather than the numbers.

Another major difference is the return of the counter system, which was a staple of the older Assassin’s Creed games. In Mirage, players can parry enemy attacks by timing their button presses correctly, which will stun most enemies and allow for a quick finisher. This adds a layer of strategy and skill to the combat, as players have to pay attention to enemy animations and patterns, and choose when to attack or defend.

The combat system also features some new elements that are unique to Mirage, such as the use of smoke bombs and mirrors. Smoke bombs can be used to create a cloud of smoke that obscures the vision of enemies and allows for stealthy assassinations or escapes. Mirrors can be used to create illusions of Basim, the protagonist of Mirage, that can distract or confuse enemies. These tools add more variety and creativity to the combat, as well as reflecting Basim’s cunning personality and nightmarish visions.

The video also shows some of the weapons and abilities that Basim can use in combat, such as swords, daggers, bows, throwing knives, and hidden blades. Basim can also unlock new skills and perks by leveling up and spending skill points in a skill tree. Some of the skills shown in the video include a double assassination, a chain assassination, a dodge roll, a sprint attack, and a leap of faith.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to release on October 12, 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Amazon Luna1. The game will follow Basim’s transformation from a street thief to a master assassin as he joins an ancient organization and uncovers a new creed2. The game will also pay tribute to the original Assassin’s Creed game by featuring Alamut, the legendary home of the Assassins.
